Friends! This is one of the fabulous tricks I love to hide my personal files without any software to deny unauthorized access. This tricks enable me to hide any file behind any image file and is very useful if we need to information secretly to any friend.
In this trick we will use winrar archieve to create compression of selected files and an image file in jped format with the help of some dos command
Steps to Hide Personal Files behind an image firewall
- So now to get started make sure you have winrar installed in your system.
- Create a Folder say Private and now copy or move all your files which you want to hide into a JPEG image file.
- Once you have collected all the files create rar archive using Winrar and save it to same location that is “Private” folder name as Private.
- Copy the image files also to the same folder as the above files and name it myimage.jpg (Tough you can use any file you want but for the tutorial purpose it would be best to do as per the instruction).
- Now as everything is ready, the tricky parts begin now using the dos commands.
- Open Command Prompt using Windows Run (Windows Key + R) and then type CMD in the input box and press enter. (By default Command Prompt opens at the current user location like C:\Documents and settings\username so you need to point it the location you have your files with in. In our cased it is the Priovate folder.
- First of all in Command Prompt type this command “cd\ ” without quotes this will keep out of the default location to the root C: drive.
- Now type the next command as “Cd private” to enter to the location we have our files.
- Now the final command “COPY /b myimage.jpg + private.rar outputimage.jpg”(without quotes) – Now, myimage.jpg is the picture you want to show, private.rar is the file to be hidden, and outputimage.jpg is the file which contains both….
That’s it; it will crate a file as the name suggested above, Open it (double-click) and it will show the picture you wanted to show. Now try opening the same file with WinRAR, it will show the hidden archive…
