Couple of days ago I was working on one of my friend’s laptop and to complete a design job it requires to install Adobe Photoshop. I arranged a CD but was surprised to found that I can’t able to installed Adobe Photoshop on his system. It was running vista and every thing looks fine though i can run the installed application very well but it seems that i can’t installed new application over it. This caused me irritation as after my several attempts is says access to the specific folder was not allowed or the massage like something disabling me to go further. And with no way i came closer to find a solution and after a lot of wondering and hovering over and there … on what should i do i finally came to a solution as if the matter is related to any admin and regular user and at last comes to a solution..
In Vista Microsoft has hidden the administration user to over protect the system access from vulnerable attack unless we make it to visible and this one is the cause… why I was not able to install the application. As regular users are protected with to get access to advanced settings. So to overcome the problem I was facing I enabled the admin user using a simple command in dos prompt as follows…
- Logon to Vista with the normal user-name and password.
- Click on the Start button
- Click on Start Search.
- Type, cmd.
- Right-click cmd, selected ‘Run as administrator’ from the shortcut menu.
- Now typed the bold character as it is Net user administrator /active:yes
- Check the message : The command completed successfully
Now after the restart everything was as smooth as there was never problem. But in case if you want to disable it again replace yes with no and you system administrator will be hidden again
