If you are using Orkut to remain in touch with your friends… but at the same time it gets you irritated with so many spam mails keep coming in Orkut Account then try the steps given below. Though I know these are not the fullproofs but can be very useful. This is a simple tip which will help you to prevent spam mails from orkut

a) BY CHANGING THE PRIMARY MAIL ADDRESS: Most of the spam message occurs because of the easy access to our primary account if somehow you can change it less used email account then all of the spam message will divert to that account leaving your main comment with fresh messages.

a) Log in to Orkut > Go to Edit Profile.

b) Click on Contact tab and change your Primary Email address to some other id, which you don’t use much.
c) Your login id will remain same but your friends will see your other email id and mails will be sent there.

b) BY TIGHTENING NOTIFICATIONS SETTINGS: You can also further modify the notification settings to prevent spam mails like ….
1. Log in to Orkut then Go to Settings > Notifications.

2. Now you will see the option that there are many notifications which orkut sends you by mail. Uncheck the unnecessary options to prevent spam.
