How to remove a non use Windows OS from the Boot Menu List

If you have installed multiple operating system with in same or different partition any of which now you don’t need or been corrupted but the list always annoyed then the best solution is to remove them from the list or set the desired windows to load on automatically. So if you wanted to do so then you can do it by your own just follow the simple procedure and at last you would come with a solution.

1. So first start with the desired operating system from the boot menu option.

2. Once windows loaded properly right click on My Computer and choose properties.

3.  Now click on Advanced tab and see the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings.

4.    Now click on the Edit button as shown, this will open a Boot.ini with the text as shown below

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional
” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional-set up” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

From the list above delete the unwanted os or which is corrupted and close the file. If there you only left only one then there will not be any boot screen menu as like only the bold one from the above list.

Now click apply and restart.
