No Folder showing in Windows Explorer from a Pen Drive or Memory Card

These days removable drives or Memory Cards are one of the most convenient way, to travel with important files or folder on the way. But in the process; have you ever caught in a situation; even though the files and folder are there on the pen drive or removable media, but on any particular pc; no folders were displayed but the files displayed well. These days this situation is very common; so in such a situation what can be a solution.

Though; in most of the cases; it is just a virus attack, which hides the folders present in the removable media. This is why we only have the files displayed but no folders. But do you know you can easily set it back using the folder option from Windows Explorer tool menu.

So to gain access of these folders again; open Windows Explorer then Go to Tools  > Folder option which will open a window shown below, locate the View tab and click over it as shown below:

Now from options displayed  scroll down to Hidden files and folder and select the choice Show hidden files and folders. Doing show will divert the windows explorer to show files even if it has set to hidden.

But what to do if there is no Folder Option setting in Windows Explorer tools menu?

So if there is no folder option in Windows Explorer; then; that can be solved very easily. How? You only need to follow the given steps carefully… so here we go…

1. So first of all you need to open gpedit.msc configuration. To do open the windows run menu (Windows key + R) and then in the run input box type “gpedit.msc” (Without quotes) and press enter.

2. Now you have the configuration window as shown below.

3. Now Go to User Configuration>>>Administrative Templates>>>Windows Component>>>Windows Explorer.

4. Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen “Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu“.

5. Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.

Now restart the system, and after the restart, I hope there you may find the folder option menu in Windows Explorer.
